Romanians arrested after shoplifting

The police arrested three Romanian men Sunday afternoon after they had broken into a store on the Tongelresestraat.

Around 15:30 Hrs, one of the men allegedly reached into the store’s cash register and took some items from the counter. Then, he ran out of the store and got into a car that was waiting. The shop owner and a witness managed to write down the license plate number. The witness himself started to chase the man and saw him throw a telephone out of the car window. Police officers stopped the car on the Eisenhouwerlaan soon after. There were three Romanians in the car, aged 26 and 29 years old. The three were taken to the police station for further investigation. Their car was seized.
