Persistent offender arrested for robberies

The police arrested a 46-year-old Eindhoven man at his home on Hoogstraat on Wednesday afternoon. The man is thought to have committed several robberies.

The suspect allegedly stole a number of items from a staff canteen of a store on Franz Leharplein on 2 February. He is said to have stolen a driving license, a mobile phone and money belonging to members of staff.A few days later, on 4 February, the Eindhoven man is alleged to have stolen three wallets from employees of a company on Stratumsedijk. The police were able to trace the persistent offender by means of camera footage and witness statements. He is now being held in custody pending further investigation.
