Eindhoven City Council blocks roads for silent march in honour of killed girl Memphis van Veen (18)

Tuesday, the Eindhoven City Council reported about the silent march that will be held in memory of Memphis van Veen Wednesday 20 March. The 18-year-old woman died after she was hit by a police car on Friday.

The silent march starts from the harbour at 18:30Hrs, then proceeds to the Welschapsedijk, where Memphis used to live, and the Noord Brabantlaan, where she was hit by an unmarked SWAT-team police car. The victim died at the scene.The Council expects a high turnout for the silent march and therefore decided to block the Noord Brabantlaan between Bredalaan and Hurksestraat. The organizers of the march ask participants to bring paper lanterns and pink or white roses. Memphis’ funeral will take place on Thursday. The funeral procession will take the Lievendaal to the Trudoplein. No roads will be closed then.Source: Omroep Brabant
