Snow slowing traffic: monster traffic jams on A2, A58 and A59 during morning and evening rush hours

EINDHOVEN – Brabant woke up to a blanket of snow Tuesday morning. A 5 to 8 cm (2-3 inches) layer of snow covered the whole province. It caused major chaos on the roads. The ANWB (Royal Dutch Touring Club) reported it was the busiest morning rush hour nation-wide ever, recording 1016 km of traffic jams around 8:30 am. In Brabant, the longest jams were on the A59 and A2.

Eindhoven Airport started the day with short delays. Around 8 am, the first plane left the regional airport. The runway had been cleared from snow early so that planes could land and take off without any trouble.Regional buses did not leave Den Bosch because of the weather conditions Tuesday morning.Source: Omroep Brabant
