Library cuts twenty jobs

EINDHOVEN – The Eindhoven library cuts 20 of its 89 jobs in which the possibility of redundancies cannot be excluded.

The redundancies are the result of an on-going reorganisation, according to director Thijs Kuipers. Dismissals will be among support staff and customer service clerks. Voluntary departure incentives will be offered to employees. Local authorities announced three million euros in cuts in the library’s budget, representing half of its subsidies. Consequences include closing down neighbourhood branch libraries.
