Rat plague in Nuenen

NUENEN – Residents from the Nuenen neighborhood Tomakker seem to live in a rat paradise. Large numbers of enormous rats are making the gardens unsafe and the town has no funds for the elimination of these pests.

The rat plague is creating increasing frustrations. Gardens are no longer safe and dog owners are afraid to walk near bushes. The Klompers family has taken its own measures. “I have two traps here and a construction site light which turns on at every movement”, says Tonny Klompers. She is scared to death of the vermin. Her husband has a baseball bat ready for use as well as a pair of tongs for throwing their bodies into the container.Source: Omroep Brabant
