Tuesday 03 April 2012
EINDHOVEN – Philips, the Technical University Eindhoven, the UMC (Utrecht Medical Centre) and Utrecht University are going to work together to tackle cancer, brain diseases and cardiovascular diseases more effectively.

They will combine faculties and laboratories for example. In this way, Philips and the TU/e want to accelerate research into treatments with scans and radiation. For these treatments there is often little need of surgical interventions. Thus the patient needs to stay less long in the hospital and he recovers faster.About one hundred researchers will join forces under the name of ‘Institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging’.
