Former Director Design Academy Eindhoven receives Culture Fund award 2012

AMSTERDAM – The former Director of the Design Academy in Eindhoven, Lidewij Edelkoort, has won the Prince Bernard Culture Fund Prize 2012.

This was announced by The Culture Fund on Wednesday. The prize is awarded each year to a prominent in the area of culture.Trend forecaster Edelkoort received the prize because her trends are easily recognizable which makes them important in the world of fashion and design.Accompanying the prize is an amount of 75,000.00 Euro awarded. In addition Edelkoort will receive a Culture Fund in her name.Mrs. Edelkoort was Director of the Design Academy in Eindhoven from 1999 through 2008. Presently she works from her own think-tank entitled Studio Edelkoort.
