VELDHOVEN – A teacher has been maltreated last week Monday in a classroom of the Sondervick College in Veldhoven.

The alleged offender, a schoolboy of sixteen, was arrested Tuesday morning. Formally he has been suspended for two days. The teacher was scared, but not really injured. The suspect got a disagreement with the teacher about the use of the mobile phone during class. This was reported to the police by rector Nol van Beurden of the school at the Knegselseweg. The vmbo scholar threatened the man and he threw a chair across the classroom. After the boy was put out of the class, he returned to kick down the teacher.According to Van Beurden the boy was known to the police. He only is allowed to return to school if proper agreements have been made, reports the rector.”There must first be very thorough conversations with the student and his parents. And of course the boy also has something to make up for towards the teacher. This is really unacceptable. You just have to counteract very sharply to this”, says Van Beurden .Wednesday the boy will be brought before the magistrate at the court in Den Bosch.Source: Omroep Brabant
