Wasvenboerderij obtains EKO label

The Wasvenboerderij, a farm in Eindhoven, has been awarded the EKO label for its organic bread and coffee. The Dutch EKO label guarantees quality of sustainable organic food.

The farm is proud it can now use the EKO quality label. Requirements to obtain this label are even tougher than meeting European requirements.

For example, 95% of the products must consist of organic ingredients. It must also be clear where exactly the ingredients come from. The use of all chemical pesticides and fertilizers are forbidden.

Groendomein Wasven is a nature reserve located in Tongelre. The complete nature reserve measures 28 hectares, including grounds of a former manor house. This manor house was torn down in 1930, but its grounds and farm, the Wasvenboerderij, still exist.

The farm can be found at Celebeslaan 30, Eindhoven. It now houses a café, restaurant and shop.
